A Better Skin

There’s nothing better than hoping into a warm shower with the intention of exfoliating your entire body.  From your hair, ears, back, legs, feet, and everything in between. Being that skin is the largest organ on the body, and the most visible, it’s a vital component of good health. Every minute of every day, we naturally shed between, 30,000 and 40,000 dead skin cells. Dead skin isn’t entirely bad since it serves as a protectant, but too much can cause build up leading to unhealthy dull skin. There is where exfoliation comes in.

“If you want a Bigger Change in Your Appearance ,some procedures can resurface your skin. Dermatologists and aestheticians offer chemical and manual exfoliation procedures in their offices. These procedures are more intensive than home exfoliation and may include downtime afterward.”  Since I want to keep it simple for now, the exfoliations I’ll be referring to are at home brown sugar scrubs, if you’d like to save on costs, or the ones you find in the store. Research recommends gently exfoliating two to three times per week to reveal skin that glows. I take it a step further and exfoliate my entire body at least once a week, especially on date nights. Also, something I learned along my journey is to be mindful of your skin texture when choosing a scrub. For example, I have sensitive skin, so I opt in for the gentler beads and crystals for my face and neck, and tougher ones for my body, to preserve my youthful skin.
